Customize how Tessel works.
How to Open Settings
- Click the Tessel icon in your menu bar / system tray
- Click Settings
General
Start on Login
Turn this ON to launch Tessel automatically when you start your computer.
- Mac: Adds to Login Items
- Windows: Adds to Startup
- Linux: Adds to autostart
Notifications
Get a popup notification when a transform finishes.
- ON: Shows "Transform complete!" after each one
- OFF: Works silently
Sound Effects
Play a sound when transforms complete or fail.
- ON: Ding on success, beep on error
- OFF: Silent mode
Theme
Tessel can match your system or use its own theme:
- System - Follows your computer's light/dark setting
- Light - Always light
- Dark - Always dark
Privacy
Your Data Stays Local
All transforms run on your computer. Your clipboard data never leaves your device.
We don't:
- Send your data to any server
- Track what you copy
- Store your clipboard history
AI Transforms Are Different
If you use AI-powered transforms (like AI Summarize):
- Your text is sent to the AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic)
- You use your own API key (BYOK)
- Tessel doesn't see or store your data
Advanced
Reset All Hotkeys
Sets all keyboard shortcuts back to defaults.
Clear Cache
Removes temporary files. Use this if transforms seem slow or buggy.
Export Settings
Saves your settings and shortcuts to a file. Useful for:
- Moving to a new computer
- Backup
Import Settings
Load settings from a previously exported file.
Subscription
View Your Plan
Shows what plan you're on:
- Core - Free
- Pro Lite - 2 packs
- Pro Unlimited - All packs
- Enterprise - Team plan
Manage Subscription
Opens a page to:
- Upgrade or downgrade
- Change payment method
- Cancel subscription
- View past invoices
About
Version
Shows your current Tessel version.
Check for Updates
Looks for new versions of Tessel.

Shows open source licenses for libraries we use.
