Install Tessel on Windows

Get Tessel running on your PC in about 2 minutes.

What You Need

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • About 50 MB of free space

Download Tessel

  1. Go to gettessel.com/download
  2. Click the download button:
    • Windows x64 - for most PCs
    • Windows ARM - only if you have an ARM-based device (like Surface Pro X)

Install It

  1. Double-click the downloaded .exe file
  2. Follow the installer wizard
  3. Click "Finish" when done

Windows Defender Warning?

You might see a blue "Windows protected your PC" popup. This is normal for new apps:

  1. Click "More info"
  2. Click "Run anyway"

Tessel is safe - this warning just means Microsoft hasn't seen it yet.

Open Tessel

Find Tessel in your Start menu and click it. Look for the Tessel icon in your system tray (bottom right, near the clock).

You're Done!

Try Your First Transform

  1. Copy some text (Ctrl+C)
  2. Press Ctrl+Alt+4 (Clean Text shortcut)
  3. Paste (Ctrl+V) - your text is now cleaned up!

Start Tessel Automatically

Want Tessel to start when Windows starts?

  1. Click the Tessel icon in the system tray
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Turn ON "Start on login"
