Keyboard Shortcuts

Control Tessel with just your keyboard.

Default Shortcuts

Ctrl+Alt+3 CSS to Tailwind
Ctrl+Alt+4 Clean Text
Ctrl+Alt+5 Paste Unformatted
Ctrl+Alt+6 Remove Background
Ctrl+Alt+7 Data to Chart
Ctrl+Alt+8 Thread Splitter

Mac users: These work the same. Ctrl+Alt works, or customize to use Cmd.

Change a Shortcut

  1. Open Tessel
  2. Go to Transforms
  3. Find the transform you want
  4. Click on its shortcut badge (e.g., "Ctrl+Alt+1")
  5. Press your new key combination
  6. Done!

Shortcut Rules

Your shortcut must include:

  • At least one modifier key (Ctrl, Alt, Cmd, or Super)
  • One regular key (letter, number, or F-key)

Good examples:

  • Ctrl+Alt+T
  • Cmd+Shift+M
  • Ctrl+Shift+F5

Won't work:

  • A (needs a modifier)
  • Ctrl+Alt (needs a regular key)

Shortcut Not Working?

1. Another app is using it

Other apps might have the same shortcut. Try:

  • A different key combination
  • Closing apps that might conflict (screen recorders, gaming software, IDEs)

2. Tessel needs restart

After changing shortcuts, restart Tessel:

  • Quit Tessel (right-click tray icon → Quit)
  • Open Tessel again

3. Permission issue (Mac)

Tessel needs Accessibility permission. Check:

  • System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility
  • Make sure Tessel is ON

Remove a Shortcut

Want to disable a shortcut completely?

  1. Click on the shortcut badge
  2. Click Clear

The transform still works - you'll just need to use it from the app window instead of a shortcut.

Reset All Shortcuts

Go back to the default shortcuts:

  1. Open Tessel Settings
  2. Click Reset All Hotkeys
